■Miranda July映画第一作
The New YorkerにMiranda Julyによる映画批評記事「Atlanta」。批評文の前半は、007に関する内容で、後半は自分の第一作についての感想。特に、夏と007のテーマが自分の作品にインスピレーションを与えた、なんてとても興味深い。これまでの作品のストーリからとても、007???なんて思うけれども、だからこそ、余計に面白いね。「I recorded my soundtrack by playing the "Thunderball" album while the camera was rolling.」映画のどの場面なんだろうね。改めてMiranda Julyの作品が楽しみだ。
■アメリカの安全保障と貧困問題
現在読んでいる「貧困の終焉」、第17章に「アメリカの安全保障と地球上の貧困」という箇所があります。ＣＩＡがまとめたリポートなどを中心に、国家破綻という観点から安全保障と貧困問題に焦点をあてています。特に、上記の内容の補足として書いてある「State Failure Task Force」や「Instances of L'se of United States Forces Abroad, 1978-1993」は、具体的な例を用いての、安全保障政策と貧困問題の関係が示してありかなり新鮮な内容だった。集団的自衛権とも関係があるこのトピック日本でも語られるべきものになりそうだな。

超簡単なアイスクリームの作り方だ、なんて・・・w。
Super-easy baggie ice-cream
Here's a pretty damned simple ice-cream recipe: combine ingredients in a baggie. Fill a bigger baggie with ice, salt and the baggie of ingredients. Shake for five minutes. Ice cream. Who knew?
1. Fill the large bag half full of ice, and add the rock salt. Seal the bag.
2. Put milk, vanilla, and sugar into the small bag, and seal it.
3. Place the small bag inside the large one and seal again carefully.
4. Shake until mixture is ice cream, about 5 minutes.
5. Wipe off top of small bag, then open carefully and enjoy!
